In the Free Accounting MSDE Installation Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine will be installed on your computer and will be used as a server. You should install MSDE if you do not have SQL Server installed.
Please refer to the Free Accounting Installation topic to find out how to start the installation.
- Select Install Microsoft SQL Desktop Engine (MSDE) from the available options of the Free Accounting installation.
- Press the Next button.
- Press the Cancel button when you get the Windows File Protection message: Files that are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions. To maintain system stability, Windows must restore the original versions of these files. Insert your Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1 CD now.
- Press the Ok button when you get the Windows File Protection message: You chose not to restore the original versions of the files. This may affect Windows stability. Are you sure you want to keep this unrecognized file versions?
- Press the Ok button when you get an SQL Server Service Control Manager Utility message.
- Press the Finish button when you will see the Free Accounting Installation successfully finished screen.
