Free Accounting Interface Overview
Free Accounting installation wizard will create the accounting shortcut Free Accounting icon on your desktop. Double click on it to run the Free Accounting application.

You will see the Unregistered Version window if you have not registered the Free Accounting software. Registration enables add-ons and enhancements. If you want to register Free Accounting, please press the Register button. For more information see the Free Accounting Registration Process window. If you want to use Free Accounting for free press the Use It FREE button.

Select or enter a Server Name, enter User name, Password of the employee and select the Free Accounting Database on the Server. Press the OK button.
Press the Online Help button to go to the Free Accounting forum and get online help.

By default the Company navigator appears every time you open the Free Accounting application.

By default the Free Accounting application has basic working window with following elements:
  • Title Bar where the name of current open window is displayed
  • Menu Bar which contains all commands for working in Free Accounting
  • Button Bar which contains frequently used commands for working in Free Accounting
  • Navigation Bar where you can change the view mode of Free Accounting main working window.
  • Open Window Bar where you can switch between several opened windows in the Free Accounting application. The same list of opened Free Accounting windows as in Window menu bar.
  • Navigation Pane with commands for changing the appearance of the Free Accounting main working area.
  • Context Pane the part where the information is shown.

      • The Title Bar displays the name of currently opened window in the Free Accounting application.

      The Menu Bar displays a list of commands. Some of these commands have images next to them so you can quickly associate the command with the image. Most Free Accounting menus are located at the top of the screen. Toolbars can contain buttons, menus, or a combination of both.

      The Button Bar displays a list of most frequently used Free Accounting commands. For more information about it see the Free Accounting Button Bar window.

      If you want to change the view mode of the working area use the Free Accounting Navigation Bar.

      On the Open Window Bar you can switch between several opened windows. By clicking on the button with the window name you can easily switch to that window. All currently opened windows are organized in a row.

      The Navigation Pane opens the associated Navigator window. For example, clicking on the Company List you see all the information about all companies that you have. By right clicking you can modify the information in the list.

      When you are ready to close the application select File | Log off and then close the Free Accounting application.
