Free Accounting Software Online Help - Free Accounting Upgrading to Newer Version

To upgrade the Free Accounting software to newer version you should follow the steps of the wizard.
Run the FreeAccountingUpdate.exe to setup the application.

Free Accounting Update welcome screen wizard will appear. Press the Next button.
Agree to the terms of the Free Accounting END-USER Software licence agreement to continue the installation process. Press the Next button.
Select the type of the Free Accounting upgrade that you want to run. You have the following opportunities:
1. Update Database to 1.0.0.7 version - will upgrade the database on the server or on the machine where the database is located.
2. Update Free Accounting Application Files - will update the Free Accounting application on your hard drive.
3. Update Database and Free Accounting Application Files - will upgrade the database on the server or on the machine where the database is located, the Free Accounting application on your hard drive.

Update Database

Select Update Database from the parts of Free Accounting application you want to update.
Provide the following information for Free Accounting updating:

SQL Server Name - the name of the server where you want your database to be updated if you installed the database previously.
Database Name - by default the installation wizard gives the name to the database of Free Accounting. You can change the name if you want.
Login - login name that you will use to connect to the database. The default login is sa.
Password - the password that you will use to connect to the database. The default password is sa.
Press the Next button.

When you are ready to install Free Accounting 1.0.0.7 press the Next button.
On the next page of the wizard press the Next button to execute DB Update.

Press the OK button when you will see the Service Operation Completed screen.

Press the Finish button when you will see the Free Accounting Installation successfully finished screen.

Update Free Accounting Application Files

Select Update Free Accounting Application Files from the parts of application you want to update.
Provide the following information for Free Accounting updating:
1. SQL Server Name - the name of the server where you want your database to be created or updated if you installed the database previously (if you have chosen Connect to existing SQL Server) or the name of the server that will be created with MSDE installation (if you have chosen Install MSDE). Do not change your computer's name.
2. Database Name - by default the installation wizard gives the name to the database of Free Accounting. You can change the name if you want.
  Press the Next button.
On the next wizard page specify the folder the Free Accounting software will be updated to. Click the Change button to browse for an existing folder.
When you are ready to install Free Accounting 1.0.0.7 press the Next button.
Press the OK button when you will see the Service Operation Completed screen.

Press the Finish button when you will see the Free Accounting Installation successfully finished screen.

Update Database and Free Accounting Application Files

Select Update Database and Update Free Accounting Application Files from the parts of Free Accounting application you want to update.
1. Provide the following information for Free Accounting updating:
  1. 3. When you are ready to install Free Accounting 1.0.0.7 press the Next button.
4. On the next page of the wizard press the Next button to execute DB Update.
5. Press the OK button when you will see the Service Operation Completed screen.
6. Press the Finish button when you will see the Free Accounting Installation successfully finished screen.
