The Free Accounting Inventory Control Journal keeps track of the movement and cost of each item in inventory. For convenience, all the items in the
database can be sorted by different criteria very quickly and easily.
In Free Accounting if you want to view the records in the Inventory Control Journal you should select Lists / Inventory Control Journal or Items / Inventory Control Journal from the main menu or
press either or
on the Commands Panel and select
Inventory Control Journal in the Navigation Tree.

Transaction ID - The ID of the performed transaction that is generated by the Free Accounting application.
Date - The date the item transaction took place.
In Qty - The quantity of the items that came INTO the inventory.
Out Qty - The quantity of the items that came OUT of the inventory.
Transaction UOM- The unit of measure used in the performed transaction
Stock Quantity-The quantity of items in stock at the time of the transaction.
Item Number - The number of an item.
Item Description - The description of an item.
Total Cost - The cost of the entire transaction. For more information about how Free Accounting determines the cost of OUT transactions see Inventory Costing Methods page.
Reason Code - The reason why the items have come into or out of the inventory.

Receipt of Goods - In this case the reference number is the number of the Receipt.
Invoice Entry for - The reference number of the corresponding Invoice.
Physical Adjustment - The reference number of the item the quantity of which was adjusted.
Vendor Return - The reference number of the corresponding Debit Memo.
Return of Goods from Customer - The reference number of the corresponding Credit Memo.

Reference Number - The reference number of the transaction.
Comments - This is a type of the transaction of the Free Accounting application (Receive Goods from Vendor, Invoice Entry for Customer, Physical Adjustment, Return of Goods, Delivery Return).
