To update the Free Accounting software to newer version you should follow the steps of the wizard.
Run the downloaded FreeAccountingSetup.exe file to start the update process. Click
here for the information how you can download the Free
Accounting installation file.
Note: In the Free Accounting version 2.0.0 three methods of inventory calculation appeared: FIFO, LIFO and Average Cost. When your company will be updated, it will have an Average Cost Method by default.
- Free Accounting Setup welcome screen will appear. Click the Next button.
- Agree to the terms of the Free Accounting END-USER Software license agreement to continue the update process.
Click the Next button.
- On the Program Maintenance step of the wizard click the Update button to start the process of updating the
software.
- Select the type of the Free Accounting update. The following options are available:
- Database and Application Update
- Recommended. Select this option to update the database and the Free Accounting application on your hard drive.
- Database Update - Select this option to update
the database on the server or on the machine where the database is located.
- Application Update - Select this option
to update the Free Accounting application on your hard drive.
Update Database and Free Accounting Application Files
- On the Update Settings step of the wizard select both Database Update and Application Update
check-boxes and click the Next button.
- Select the type of the update that is preferential to you:
Standard - Select this option to update the last company you worked with.
Advanced - Choose this option to update any existing Free Accounting database on MSSQL Server from the local network.
- Click the Next button.
Update Database
- On the Update Settings step of the wizard select the Update Database check-box only and click the
Next button.
- Select the type of the update that is preferential to you:
Standard - Select this option to update the last company you worked with.
Advanced - Choose this option to update any existing Free Accounting database on MSSQL Server from the local network.
- Click the Next button.
Application Update
- On the Update Settings step of the wizard select the Application Update check-box only and click the
Next button.
- On the Ready to Install step of the wizard carefully check, whether the information you entered is correct and click
the Next button. If you want to change some information, click the Back button.
- Click the Finish button on the Free Accounting Installed successfully window.
